The differences and main functions between safety valves and pressure reducing valves:

A safety valve is a special valve in which the opening and closing parts are in a normally closed state under external force. When the pressure of the medium in the equipment or pipeline increases beyond the specified value, the medium is discharged outside the system to prevent the pressure of the medium in the pipeline or equipment from exceeding the specified value. Safety valves belong to the category of automatic valves, which control the pressure to not exceed the specified value and play an important protective role in personal safety and equipment operation.

A pressure reducing valve is a valve that reduces the inlet pressure to a desired outlet pressure by adjusting it, and relies on the energy of the medium itself to automatically maintain a stable outlet pressure. From the perspective of fluid mechanics, the pressure reducing valve is a throttling component with variable local resistance. By changing the throttling area, changing the flow rate and the kinetic energy of the fluid, pressure loss is caused to achieve the purpose of pressure reduction.

The main functions of safety valves are:
The safety valve plays a safety protection role in the system. When the system pressure exceeds the specified value, the safety valve opens to discharge some of the gas/fluid in the system into the atmosphere/pipeline, ensuring that the system pressure does not exceed the allowable value, ensuring that accidents will not occur due to excessive pressure in the system.

The main function of the pressure reducing valve is:
The working principle of a pressure reducing valve is to reduce the water pressure by the local resistance of the flow channel inside the valve to the water flow. The range of water pressure drop is automatically adjusted by the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the membrane connecting the valve disc or the piston on both sides.
